Branch Manager

Habitat for Humanity (HFHI) is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has built and renovated more than 350,000 homes worldwide, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for more than 1.75 million people. In Europe and Central Asia (ECA), it is present in 20 countries where it works with partners, donors and volunteers.

In Tajikistan, Habitat builds, renovates and repairs houses, improves water and sanitation, works on disaster response and offers housing microfinance services. It has been active since 1999 and has supported almost 4,000 families.

Habitat for Humanity-Tajikistan is seeking applications for the full time position of Branch Manager for its Khujand city.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the management team of the Branch;
  • Initiate and implement innovative housing solutions and partnerships;
  • Provide logistic and administrative support during visits of HFHT and HFHI ECA staff members;
  • Overall coordination & management of Branch projects in Sogd region: maintain partnership relation, empower engineers, regularly monitor project progress and evaluate, develop and provide reports;
  • Representation of the Branch in communication and collaboration with local authorities, local & international partners;
  • Prepare overall affiliate budgets and schedules and monitor construction budget and schedules;
  • Ensure quality standards and  local building regulations are enforced in building operations;
  • Provide monthly and quarterly programmatic reports to Program Development Manager;
  • Develop and implement branch development strategy;
  • Work closely with Program Development Manager (PDM) in strategic decision making;
  • Ensure HFHI building and operational standards and parameters are met;
  • Coordinate and work closely with NO RD and Communication Officer for effective local resource mobilization.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Management, Engineering or Construction;
  • Working experience in leading position is required;
  • Working experience in not-for-profit organization is desirable;
  • Minimum three years of experience in supervising paid staff;
  • Minimum five years of experience in project management;
  • Fluency in Tajik and Russian languages;
  • Good working knowledge of English language including ability to write reports and conduct daily communications by e-mail and phone is an asset;
  • Computer literate: MS Office, MS Windows, Internet and email;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written, negotiation skills.
